The Cause Of Christ
Listen to “The Cause Of Christ” by Kari Jobe
Our job as Christians is to love the Lord and love others. It’s through the love of Christ in us that others will see Him and know Him.
John 13:34-35 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
It’s for Jesus’ honor and glory and by His grace that we live and have love. And whether in death or in life, our live’s should reflect His glory. No matter the circumstances that we face from day to day, we should try to model Jesus to each one around us. And if we face our circumstances by ourselves, He is still with us and we should remember that we are His. In all things, we should look straight to Him and remember that He is bigger than anything we face. I always ask myself, “When this situation is over will I be proud of how I am handling myself or ashamed and regretful? Am I showing Jesus through my choices or am I making Christians and Jesus look bad?”
And I just want to throw this in there… I know that Jesus is the one who transforms us; not our own might, but we choose how to react to and handle our lives. It’s no one else’s responsibility but our own to choose the right way. Jesus gave us the tools, but we can choose to use them or not. So we look to Him for strength and for the right way to act or not to act, and for the right things to say or not to say.
Philippians 1:20-21 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
Sometimes it takes courage to restrain ourselves and turn the other cheek, or to wait on the Lord instead of immediately reacting. It takes courage to let go of things in our lives that we hold dear. And It takes courage to step up and speak out for righteousness. At the end of the day, there is only on thing that matters. Have I served my Father and honored Him?
Matthew 25:21 ““His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”
He is our purpose and He is our joy; this world and life is temporary, but Jesus is our eternity.
James 1:2-4 “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
Lord, my life is not my own. Everything that I am, have, do, think, say, hope for… it’s all for You. You alone are the reason that I live, breath, and have hope for eternity. My salvation came from Your love and sacrifice. And although I can’t earn Your love or salvation, in my heart, I owe You my life. Please help me to always keep You at the top of my mind; not thinking of You only when it’s convenient, but in every moment of my life following, praising, crying, laughing, remembering that You are always with me. I don’t want to take You along with me; It’s I who goes along with You. My existence is because of You, so everything I do is for and because of You. I love You, Jesus. My life is Yours. Amen.
