Listen to “Old Church Choir” by Zach Williams
I just love this! To me it’s a song of joy and thanksgiving for the new life that lives inside of us.
Something that we should do as Christians, Christ followers, or disciples of Christ is actually spend time with God. When we place our focus on God within us each day, we have a personal revival and we transform more and more into the likeness of Christ and who He created us to be.
We can go to church on Sunday, but it’s not the same as building that one on one relationship that He wants from each of us. There can’t be an overflow of His fruits and essence if we aren’t filling ourselves up from day-to-day, not just from week to week. When we make God our priority each day and entwine our entire lives around Him, we will overflow with the likeness of Him. Part of that likeness is a joy that is like no other. And no matter what happens, if we keep our focus on Him nothing will be able to steal that joy.
1 Peter 1:8-9 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
Psalm 98:4-6 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; 5 make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, 6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn— shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
Lord, thank You for giving us all of You. Thank You for offering us salvation and freedom, and everything that comes with it. We are lost without You, but we can face anything with You! Thank You that no matter what comes my way, I don’t need to despair, because I know that You are with me. For that we praise You and are overflowing with joy that comes only from You! Praise You, Lord! Thank You! Amen
