Listen to “God With Us” by Jesus Culture; Bryan & Katie Torwalt
I have to admit, even though I’m posting this song today it never quite catches my attention until they sing the chorus and bridge. Not that I don’t love the rest of the song, but when it comes on (I’m usually washing dishes or cooking) my focus is only on what I’m working on. Then the chorus starts to play, “God with us, God for us, nothing can come against, no one can stand between us”, and then I stop what I am doing and just lift my hands, praise and declare these words out loud… And then I play it a few more times enjoying ALL of the song and not just where it seems to catch my attention 🙂
Regardless of which part of the song draws me in, the entirety of it is beautiful and powerful.
We praise Jesus for who He is. And as I have said in other posts and will continue to say, He is love. We have every reason to sing of His glory and power. And as we are singing these things, we are declaring them in our hearts. In this song we are singing, “You are matchless in grace and mercy… steadfast, never-failing, faithful… healer, comforter, King and Savior”! We cannot hide from His love.
Because God is love, He is good; and His plan for all is good. Nothing can come against, and no one can come between God’s love for us. This doesn’t mean that as a Christian, life will be a smooth ride, though. It means that no matter what does come our way, He is with us and He will carry us through. And whatever trials we face, we can trust that they will not be in vain. God is the master orchestrator, and He will use our rough times to build His kingdom, just as He will use the smooth times.
Praise the Lord! I am so grateful for that. No matter what I face, something good can come from it. A life can be turned to Jesus and saved in ways that we don’t always know, and can’t always fathom. We might not always see how God is working, but His plan for us is greater than just our life. That is truth! We must have faith in our God who is good!
Romans 8:28-31NIV And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
We might feel like so many things in life bring fear and death, but God is with us! He brings life and courage; lifting us up to see Him and His glory!!!
My God, You are beautiful! You are graceful and merciful, steadfast, never-failing, faithful, my healer and comforter, my King and Savior. I’m eternally grateful that I cannot hide from Your love. I pray, Lord, that I will always recognize and acknowledge that I am sheltered under Your wing. Thank You that no matter what I face in my life, You work all things together for good; and that is truly amazing and beautiful to me. Use my life and everything that comes my way for Your honor and glory. Help me to always keep my eyes on You and praise You no matter what. I trust You and love You, my Lord. Amen.
