Hebrews 6:19-20a

I Have This Hope

Listen to “I Have This Hope” by Tenth Avenue North

Trials and tribulation or floods and fires are always around us, effecting us directly or indirectly. During these times we can feel so strong like we can face anything, but other times we sink in defeat and hopelessness, BUT we always have a reason to hope.

It doesn’t always “look” like things are okay, and we might “feel” alone, but we cannot base our hope and outcome on looks and feelings. We must base it on truth and have confidence in the goodness of our Father who loves us.

Hebrews 11:1  Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

When we have faith in Jesus hand guarding and guiding our lives, our perseverance can be endless. We just have to remember to keep our sight on Him. If we look to His Word for help and strength, we will get it.
Isaiah 40:31  but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
We might not receive specific answers, but it’s not our job to know everything. It’s our job to let our God, who does know everything,  work all things together for us who love Him (Romans 8:28). When we can do that, we will have peace that settles on our souls that is beyond our fleshly understanding. And we can have joy even in times of sorrow.
Hebrews 6:19-20a   We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, 20 where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf.

I know it sounds like it doesn’t make sense. But I know it, because I have experienced it.

In the most sorrowful and trying time of my life, I had peace and joy like I have never felt even in the best of times. I can only accredit that to MY God. He loves me, and He wrapped His peace, joy, hope, and love around me like a Father’s loving, protective and secure embrace. My fear was gone, and my strength was immeasurable, because it came from the One who is our strength. If we let go of worry and read the Bible and pray and live for God in our weak moments, we will be strengthened.

And I want to leave you with this word of blessing today. As you stop focusing on your weaknesses, and trials (we must choose to redirect our focus); then God WILL fill us and we WILL overflow with joy and peace and hope that is our mental, physical, and spiritual anchor. Be filled today!

Romans 15:13  May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, You are my strength, my , peace, joy, and hope! You have given me every tool that I need to find rest in You. Help me to redirect my focus from my fears and weaknesses to digging into my Bible, praying to You, and praising You. I love You, Jesus, and I know that You are good. And I know You love me in a way that I can’t even comprehend. Help me to trust Your love for me. Thank You for Your peace that passes understanding today! Amen.
