Listen to “As It Is (In Heaven)” by Hillsong, from the album “Let Their Be Light”
I love this song. It still rather has me in a bit of awe and speechlessness, but I really wanted to share it sooner than later.
We live in a real world where, pain and heartache are unavoidable. But this world is not our permanent home, and we are never alone. And though we suffer, there is a God who will carry our hearts each step of the way, give us peace that passes our own understanding, and fill us with joy even while we weep. Whatever it is that we go through, we can live as it is in heaven while we are still here in this life. Our praise and worship to the Father shouldn’t be more or less determined on whether life is going our way or not. If we set our eyes on Jesus, we will find a new season in, or different level of worship in the suffering. We lift our praise and rejoice because He is good; because He loves us and saved us. And we don’t have to wait for heaven to praise Him with our whole hearts. We can own the kingship of being a son or daughter of the Most High King, Jesus now, and praise Him with all the freedom that is found in casting our worries and crowns at His feet.
Lord, You are beautiful. You are good and merciful and worthy of all of my praise! As I open my heart and sing Your praises, I ask that You help me to look only to You and give You my full attention. Please help me to remember this life is temporary, and what matters most is You. I am Yours, and I pray that I can freely worship as a child of the King. Thank you, Lord for giving me the gift of eternal life, and peace in knowing that You live in my heart now. Praise You, Lord Most High, my Father and King. Amen.
