Of course part of my purpose is all of my rolls. I’m a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter. It could be what I do. I’m a professional cosmetologist, a babysitter, a crafter, a songwriter, a singer and musician. I love to write…I journal, I write songs, I make lists, and I doodle. But what is my main purpose in this life?
If I had to choose one thing and name it my purpose, I would have to say that it is how I live my life throughout all of these roles that make up my life. And not just how I live, but why I live the way that I do. My purpose is to live for Jesus Christ in whatever I do; and how I treat people; how I deal with situations.
I do believe that there are appointed gifts and positions. We all have a place in the body of Christ. For life to function properly, it takes all jobs, all gifts and talents no matter how big or small, how important or insignificant we may think.
So even in saying all of that, I still sometimes wonder what my best place is. What is my Kingdom purpose? Actually I know that I am right where God wants me. I’m ministering to my children and husband first and foremost by being the best Godly wife and mama I can be. I’m certainly not perfect, but I am a work in progress! Aren’t we all? We are ever-changing from one role to the next in day-to-day life, and in the long spectrum of our lives. With those changes, our purpose is always to love as Christ loves us. Our purpose is to let Him shine through our lives.
Lord, Help me to remember always, that no matter where I am in my life, my purpose is to live and do it all for You. Help me to keep sight on how I live and not so much on what I am doing or not doing. Help me to remember that all roles are important even when I might feel less than. Help me to be content right where I am, and not to envy anything that isn’t mine right now. I am Yours! I am your daughter! And I am so thankful that You are mine. Help me to always choose to love and live for You. Amen♥
